Alpha Brain Review Part 1

I’ve decided to do this review in two parts(maybe three – Update – Read part 2 here). It will be like a “Before & After”, Part 1 being the before.

Introduction to Alpha Brain

If you aren’t familiar with alpha brain, there is a good chance you may be new to nootropics. Don’t worry you’ve come to the right place. It is manufactured by the company, Onnit. Onnit sells a bunch of different kinds of supplements, food, and fitness products. They have some quality products and if you haven’t done so yet, I would suggest taking some time to check out their website.

A lot of the pictures I had seen online showed that the pills themselves where actually green and yellow, but that was the past formula. Onnit has switched over to color and dye free capsules, so that it is an all natural product.

What’s in it?

Alpha Brain contains an array of different vitamins, minerals, and herbs. In essence, it is like a nootropic stack as it’s a combination of different types of nootropics. Some of these I have already covered on this site like; Alpha GPC, L-Theanine, L-Tyrosine, and Huperzine A.

You can see the complete list of ingredients in the image below.

What’s it suppose to do?

As with all nootropics it’s main purpose is to help with overall mental focus, and memory. The formula also contains ingredients that are to help with energy, mood, creativity, and even help improve your sleep(lucid dreams).

Baseline

With my reviews I do, I like to try to establish some sort of baseline to go off of. Aside from letting you know if I’ve personally noticed a difference and how it works, and how I feel I’m also going to try and see if it actually helps improve my “brain age”. For this review, I did a simple test on freebrainagegames.com. In the future, I hope to switch over to Lumosity, but for now this free version with serve as a baseline.

My brain age results: 48

As far as how I’m physically feeling at the moment, I feel very tired, and sluggish all of the time. My creativity and motivate level is pretty much at zero. I’ve also been having some problems with short term memory loss (i.e. I’ll punch in at work, then a couple minutes later can’t remember if I punched in or not, and have to go back and check if I actually did punch in).

The Plan

Today is going to start Day 1 of taking Alpha Brain. I ordered 90 capsules, and plan on completing this review in 30 days. I plan on taking two capsules each day for the first 15 days, after that I plan to increase to the max 4 capsules a day(2 in the morning, and 2 more a couple hours before bed).
